Hi everyone, I've noticed that a lot more people started visiting DeafJapan.com and subscribing to our YouTube channel.
I think maybe many of you have recently seen the Japanese Anime Film “Koe no Katachi” (Shape of Voice) American title “A Silent Voice” and it got you interested in Japanese Sign Language.
Between work, family and sleep, I’ve been working on making a new YouTube video about “Koe no Katachi”. Specifically, focusing on the JSL that was in the film.
First of all, I’d like to pay my respects to the animators for being able to animate Sign Language! This is not an easy thing to do and I’m sure the artists had to constantly watch JSL video models signing.
Secondly, I’d like to thank you all for your support and for subscribing to the DeafJapan TV channel. I’ve been motivated to keep making more JSL/ASL videos because of all of your nice feedback.
Please have fun and learn some JSL and / or ASL from this video.
If you really enjoyed this video, please comment below and let me know. Then, I’ll start making part 2, 3, 4 and 5.
See you next time.
1. Friend 友だち (tomodachi)
2.Sign Language 手話 (shuwa)
3.Sahara
(Shuwa sa-kuru)
(Wasureru mono)
6. Why can you do sign language?
7. To learn it 覚えた (Oboeta)
8. What is it? 何 (Nani)
(Nande mo nai yo)
10. A mouse was here ねずみが居ただけ (Nezumi ga ita dake)
*11. A really gross one (Sugee kimoi yatsu)
For number 11, the JSL wasn’t shown, but I thought it would be nice to show the JSL and ASL for “Gross”. So now you can add it in your vocabulary.
